Hi, my name’s Beatrix! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and have been soaking up the love, good care and attention ever since! I am now ready to start my ‘happily’ ever after with a loving family! I came in heartworm positive, but I’ve been treated for that and am doing great! Ready for an active family to have fun with!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I recently visited a home for about 4 days where there was an older dog, and we got along well … until it was time for a treat. A tussle broke out and my foster isn’t sure who started it but it’s best that I don’t live with a dog since I guard treats and my food. I can be around other dogs for play and walking together, just not around food or treats. / Cats unknown. / I liked the young children in my foster home as well as the kids around age 10 that I met at Mostly Mutts, so if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may accidentally bump over.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a super sweet girl who very much sees myself as a lap dog – yep … all 40 lbs. of me. Lol. Now that I’ve completed my heartworm treatment, I’m looking for a family that will be active with me. I’m finished being cooped up and ready to have fun! I impressed the Mostly Mutts photographer and doggie bather with my perfect ‘sit’ and my beautiful eyes and ears. I am sure to charm you too with my happy, tail-wagging nature and friendly demeanor. / My energy level is 6-8, so I’ll want some regular exercise with my new family.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer. I’ve mastered the ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands so far. We are currently working on door dashing and jumping over things as I jumped over the front desk at Mostly Mutts. / I don’t really mind my crate at the shelter, but I protested being in it in my short break foster home, as I much prefer being with my people. / I've had a few accidents on the shelter schedule and in my short break foster home, but I did seem to be learning the schedule after a few days in the home. So, please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to be with people – whether we are just chilling on the couch, or I am collecting those belly rubs (my favorite), I am happiest when with you. I also love treats. Toys are great fun too, so let’s play! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’ve been treated for heartworms and am doing well. I’ll have a recheck in February 2024, so local adoption please and of course keep me on a monthly heartworm prevention.
