Hi, my name’s Claire! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m happy to be here. The volunteers are taking great care of me while I wait for my new family to find me. I hope to meet them soon!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and in the prison/foster training program and played well with dogs my size or larger. I liked the large female dog in my temp. foster home, and we played together a lot - I played hard with her. I also chased a smaller Chi-weenie dog I met as though he were a prey animal, so if you have a nice medium-sized or larger dog at home already that would be okay with a rougher play style, let’s meet to see if we can be pals! / I didn’t get to meet the kitty in my temp. foster home, but showed some interest that I may want to chase. If you have a dog-friendly or dog-tolerant kitty at home, we would need to meet and see how I do. / I recently met kids (age 10+) at Mostly Mutts and kids aged 10-12 in my temp. foster home, and I liked them, but was a little mouthy when I got excited and we played on the floor. So, if you have children around that age or older, let’s meet! Best no toddlers or small children that I may bump over or accidently nibble with my mouthy style of play.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a super sweet girl with a friendly nature who enjoys a quieter type of environment. I have been a bit nervous at the shelter and overwhelmed by the loud, unfamiliar sounds, both inside and outside, causing me to “pancake” and not want to walk at times. The volunteers have been working to help me feel more comfortable, and they are seeing more and more of my loving, tail-wagging self as I become accustomed to my surroundings. I did well for my bath too and enjoyed the head and neck rubbing. I think I’d really like a fenced-in yard in my new home. If you have a fenced yard, please stay outside with me to make sure I don’t try to climb it (I tried that at the shelter) as I don’t want to get lost or hurt. I can also be a door dasher so please watch me carefully. I really showed my fun-loving side in my temp. foster home, playing with the nice dog and kids. Sometimes I have a mouthy style of play and also get into things that aren’t mine so please tell me to ‘leave it’ if I accidentally nibble on you or something that is not mine and give me lots of Nylabones and hard chew toys. My temp. foster described me as a sweet and loving pup! I think I’ll be happiest with a calm natured family, who will take the time and show patience to help me be comfortable in my new home. / My energy level is currently 4-6, a bit higher when playing with another dog.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and I’ve already learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and in my temp. foster home, with no overnight accidents. / I’ve had good potty manners in the prison/foster training program, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love attention and will just lay down to have my belly, head and neck rubbed. Being loved on by the nice volunteers makes me a happy girl. I loved all the toys in my temp. foster home, especially anything I can chew on. I also enjoyed chewing on an antler during my photo shoot. I also like to play fetch and chase tennis balls. / I’m sometimes fearful of loud noises, so I’d like a patient family and a quieter walking area in my new home! I also love to be with people so I wouldn’t like being alone too much. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.
I am looking for a wonderful calmer and quieter type home where I will be loved for life! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
