Bolt

Gender: Male
Breed: Labrador
Secondary Breed: Mix
Status: Adoptable

A SWEET & FRIENDLY GUY: 1 year old / 45 lbs.

Hello there! My name’s Bolt! I was in a rough situation when a wonderful family helped me out. They took me in and nursed me back to a healthy weight and happy nature. They have older dogs though, and- even though they love me very much, my puppyish energy is a bit overwhelming for the older dogs, so Mostly Mutts is going to help me find a new family to love that will be a great fit!  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: Though I formerly lived with dogs, no dogs in my new home please. I met dogs at Mostly Mutts and was very reactive toward them, lunging, barking and showing teeth. / Cats unknown. / I reportedly liked kids in my previous home, but I don’t remember their ages. I met a nice 10 year-old girl at Mostly Mutts and liked her, but I did a lot of jumping and started nipping when she ran around and rode her scooter. I’m also very strong, so older kids 15+ may be a good fit for me. Let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a sweet cuddle bug with all the fun characteristics of a young, energetic dog – playful, loving and active – ready to being lots of joy to my new family! I’m smart, alert and eager to learn. I’m a people dog and – though they have let me down in the past when I was a little puppy, I have lots of love to give. / My energy level is 5-7 and I do like to play and roughhouse a bit.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  I’ve already mastered quite an impressive list of commands and skills: ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘leave it’, ‘drop it’, ‘come’, ‘stay’, ‘place’ and ‘go get a toy.’ I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners. I will also ‘sit and wait’ for my meals when asked to. My former family taught me some of those. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and were good in my former home too. / My potty habits were good in my previous home, as well as here at Mostly Mutts on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I LOVE to play and can’t pick a favorite toy – I love them ALL (though tennis balls are at the top of my list). If you are looking for a treat for me – I like ice – lol. I’m a people fan and love to collect all the cuddles and give them kisses in return. I also enjoy walks, so let’s do those together. / I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I have some fur loss around my eyes – likely due to rubbing them from allergies. My eyes are clear now, and my hair is growing back nicely.

I am looking for a great home with a loving family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
