LOOKING FOR LOVE & KINDNESS:  8.5 years old / 17 lbs.  Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  Hi, my name is Bumblebee!  I’m glad I was rescued by MM’s & have to say that it’s a nice place, but with all the activity that takes place here each day, it’s been a bit overwhelming to me.  If you take things slow with me, my sweet nature emerges as I realize I can trust you.  I have been enjoying my walks with the volunteers & will go back into my kennel nicely afterwards.  I really think I see it as my ‘safe place’, but the volunteers have to be careful when getting me out, as I have been known to nip - there are so many different volunteers & I just don’t know all of them. Please have a crate for me in my new home as I loved hanging out in my crate in my temporary foster home, & I slept soundly in it at night. I’m sensitive to touch (especially around my feet), & I don’t like things over my head. I also don’t like to be picked up but will tolerate it when getting in/out of the car. We’ve discovered that I have a few medical challenges that may play a role in my discomfort & initial nippiness.  I have congestive heart failure & am now on 2 medications that I’ll need to stay on for the rest of my life.  I’m also a little anemic, so I’m taking vitamin E.  My heart will be checked again in Mid to late February – & if there’s enough improvement, I’ll have my teeth cleaned & some pulled which I really need.  I have a little abscess under my chin as a result of needing dental care, but it’s improving with medication. I have some trouble with stairs, so a home with limited or no stairs is what I need. I hope to be in my new home soon, so I can relax & enjoy the good life.  I am a new student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, & I’ve already mastered the ‘sit’ command. I’m looking forward to learning lots more! Treats are wonderful, especially peanut butter, so you can use that for my training.  I like toys & will wag my tail a bit to let you know when I am ready to play with them.  Again, I am slowly coming out of my shell – so just give me time to warm up to you.  Once I have, I am quite loving & enjoy petting & scratches.  My potty manners are a work in progress with some accidents on the shelter schedule, & hopefully will get better now that my medical needs have been addressed.  Please be consistent with me in my new home, so I can master those skills. I met a few dogs at the shelter & had mixed reactions. I greeted some with happy tail wags, but I didn’t like some, so I growled & snapped at them. If you have a calm & low key dog, let’s meet to see if we can be pals.  I growled a little bit at both the doggies & kitties in my temp. foster home, but I wasn’t aggressive towards any of them. I have not been around kids, but I do not think they would be a good fit in my home, as I tend to be snappy when I am afraid or unsure.  Do you have a place in your heart for a sweet older fellow who just needs to know he is loved?  If so, let’s meet soon!  Energy level: 2-4.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered, & my adoption fee is $100.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar & leash.
