A PRECIOUS SPECIAL NEEDS LADY: 5 years old / 7 lbs. and could gain a pound
Hi there! My name is Daisy! I had a home, but after jumping off the couch (which caused my back end to be paralyzed) my previous owners decided they could not care for a paralyzed dog, so I'm with Mostly Mutts looking for a new home. I wear a baby diaper with a onesie to keep it in place and my foster mom will share all her tricks of the trade in caring for me as she has 2 dogs of her own that are paralyzed just like me. (It's easy-peasy to take care of me!)
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I have been around dogs of all sizes and can be a little bit of a bossy girl, but once I get to know them I leave them alone and all is good, so if you have a dog that won't be offended or retaliate, let's meet / Cats unknown but my foster thinks I would chase them at first / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no very young kids that may fall on me or that may not know how to properly handle me.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a super sweet girl who is happiest being as close to you as possible and as much as possible! I get to go to work with my foster and I like sitting in her lap while she works. I'm friendly with everyone, though I may bark at a stranger who quickly becomes my friend. You'd never tell from my happy and unaffected nature that I even know my back end is paralyzed. It certainly hasn't slowed me down as I move faster than some 4-legged dogs, especially if I think I'm getting left behind. Since I'm a real go-getter, I will need an owner who keeps close tabs (a hand) on me, as my foster can absolutely see me jumping off anything. I am a 'no fear' little gal. I am also a barker - barking at most any unknown sound, so condo or apartment living would not be for me. Also, I have some separation anxiety when left alone and bark/cry / My energy level is 3-5.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: My main skill is being adorable - which I have totally mastered / In my foster home, they put me in my crate at night and I settle in about 5 minutes and sleep there through the night / Due to my paralysis, I wear a diaper and a onesie, so potty habits are not an issue. Just think, no taking me out in the rain or walks in the heat or cold.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to be held and carried around and I like to burrow and get comfy. I also love the car and curl up in a blanket to sleep - but be ready when you open the door as I'll try to jump right out. I would be a great dog for someone who travels in a car or RV and can take me with them. I like to run and play, so I will count on my owner to keep me safe from stairs or jumping from furniture (baby gates for homes with stairs would be a must for me). Food, antler bones and small stuffed toys are on my 'favorites' list, and - while I am possessive of them with other doggies, I let my people take them from me without fuss / I would not be happy if my family worked away from home, so I need an at home family member to be happy!
• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I'll come to you with a wheelchair that was donated for me though I haven't been in it much since I've just been spayed.
I am looking for someone who wants a baby and constant companion who will keep me safe and love me furever! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
