A FRIENDLY GUY:  4 years old / 46 lbs.
Hi there!  My name’s Ellis!  Not to brag, but I have heard the volunteers who care for me say that I am a shelter favorite and a real love bug!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and look forward to finding my new home soon!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  When I first met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, I felt insecure and I didn’t like them. After working with my trainer on this, I now feel comfortable interacting with other dogs and have had many successful playdates with the other mutts, so let’s meet. / Cats Unknown / I met a nice 10-year-old boy and his younger sister at Mostly Mutts and did great with them, so kids around 10 (or slightly younger) in my new home could be fun!  Just keep in mind that I get happy/excited and jump up on folks a bit.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am as friendly as I am loving with the personality of a true sweetheart. I’ve happily greeted all the people I’ve met during my time with Mostly Mutts as I love to make new friends. / Energy level (4-6).
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’ve proven to be easy to train since I’m food motivated and take treats nicely. In fact, I’m a graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program! I have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘down’, ‘leave it’, ‘drop it’, and ‘go to your place’ commands, loose leash walking, and proper door etiquette. I also accept nice strangers without jumping, though I like to hug and if you lean down, I may jump up to hug you. I load nicely in a car, too, so let’s ride!  I’m able to jump very high and I’ll likely need a fence that is at least 6 feet tall to keep me confined to the yard if you have a fence. / I have good crate manners and keep it clean at the MM shelter. However, I did have some separation anxiety in my temp. foster home (I broke out of the crate when my hosts left, and I chewed on the door frame a little).  Maybe I just needed to settle in more, I’m not sure, but a stay/work at home family member would be ideal for me. / My potty manners are good on the shelter schedule.
• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I am a loving guy who likes to be petted and likes to give big hugs and to snuggle.  I also like giving kisses and will climb in your lap if you allow me to do that.  Toys interest me somewhat, so maybe you can show me how much fun they can be. I also like a cozy blanket to curl up in. / I don’t like being in my crate and away from my people for long periods of time.
• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.
Come meet me and I’ll likely give you a kiss!  My adoption fee is $199.00 (originally $299 but a generous volunteer who loves me paid $100), and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
