A SWEET OLDER LADY:  13 years old / 14 lbs.
Hi, my name is Esther!  My family turned me in to animal control, not sure why.  Maybe they fell on hard times.  I don’t hold it against them, and my fortune certainly improved when I was rescued by Mostly Mutts!  I came in looking a bit rough with lots of fur loss, but special baths are already helping me look and feel better.  I look forward to being with my new furever family soon!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’m doing fine with the other dogs in my foster home, so let’s meet! / Cats Unknown / I really liked the teens that I lived with, in a short-term foster home when 1st rescued!  I’ve not been around younger children, so let’s meet!
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a very calm girl the majority of the time.  A few times a day, I may get a burst of energy and play with my stuffed toys.  I’m not really a "lap dog," but I will follow you around and sit next to you (but not on you).  A comfy dog bed or a blanket on the floor is just fine with me.  I may be a little shy at first but warm up quickly to my usual friendly, social self / My energy level is 4-6.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I already know the ‘sit’ command and I go in my crate when you say ‘get in your bed’.  I bet you can teach me even more!  During my ‘energy bursts’, I will play fetch or tug of war with my stuffed animal / I was loud in my crate at the Mostly Mutts facility but in my foster home I go into it without any fuss, so yay me / I have had good potty manners on a schedule in my foster home, though please make sure I actually go with I’m outside or I may have an accident in the home.
• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to be with my people and sit next to or near them in the same room. I like to snuggle/burrow under blankets which is so cute.  I enjoy my small stuffed animals/toys and prefer them to the chew bones offered by my foster family / I do NOT like loud noises (fireworks or thunder).  My foster mom feels I would be the same about voices, so they speak softly to me.  I do bark when the doorbell rings, but if the person at the door comes in, I usually warm up to them quickly.
• MEDICAL:  It was discovered when I was spayed that I had mammary masses, so those have been removed and the vet thinks they got all of them, so the chances of cancer returning is low.  I’m getting special baths that are easy to do at home to help my skin/fur finish healing up.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.
I am looking for a calm home to call my own!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
