Gracie

Gender: Female
Breed: Dachshund
Secondary Breed: Mix
Status: Adoptable

A DARLING LITTLE GIRL:  8.5 years old / 12 lbs.   Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  Hi, I’m Gracie – a sweet and shy little lady who lost my home when my family had to move in with others and I couldn’t come along.  So, I’m now looking for a loving furever home. My foster mom describes me as a delightful little lady, and I can be shy and afraid at times, but if you show me kindness and patience I will reciprocate with doggie love and sweetness. I like the gentle 9-year-old girl who visits me with her mom and my former owner said I liked kids too – though I don’t remember their ages, so if you have gentle kids, let’s meet!  I formerly lived with another calm dog, and I get along with the other dogs in my foster home, so if you have a sweet dog already, let’s meet. I’m having some accidents in my foster home, so my foster family is working with me on this. Please continue to be patient and consistent with me so that I can master my potty skills. I love my crate and it’s my safe place, so please have one for me in my new home. I sleep in it at night in my foster home and have been very quiet overnight. I do tend to bark during the day when I hear sounds, so an apartment/condo type home likely won’t be a good fit for me. I have been known to run out cracked doors and gates, so please use caution with those as I don’t want to get hurt or lost.  I’ve been spayed and had a hernia repaired so now that I’m feeling better, I’m getting more playful and snuggly. I haven’t played with toys yet, but I do enjoy a chewy treat. When I lived at the MM facility, I liked sitting on the volunteers’ laps outside on the bench watching the surroundings and soaking up some love.  Sadly, I wasn't kept on Heart Worm prevention in my previous home, so I'm HW positive. The good news is that I'll be treated for that in a few months and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that treatment with one of their vets.  I hope to be with my family before treatment starts!  Energy level: 4-6.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed, and my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar and leash.
