Julian

Gender: Male
Breed: Boxer
Secondary Breed: Labrador
Status: Adoptable

AN EXUBERANT & ACTIVE FRIEND: 2 years old / 34 lbs.

Hi there! My name is Julian! I was with another rescue that closed, so Mostly Mutts stepped in to help them out with some of the doggies in their program. I’m currently in the prison foster/training program offsite and learning so much! Please call 770-272-6888 to find out when I’m available to meet.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I’ve met a few dogs in the prison foster/training program while on leash and I hope to be able to play with them soon, so if you have a dog, let’s meet / I met a cat and it did not go well so we all agreed no cats is best for me! / I did get to meet a couple kids at the shelter, and I was all over them in a playful and slobbery way, so best there be older children in my new home. We are working on my mouthy, exuberant play as part of my training, but for now, kids 15+ would be the best fit for me.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a lively guy with LOTS of energy! I am all about play, play, play. The MM photographer described me as a ‘firecracker’, so you know our session was busy! I sometimes have a goofy personality too which I hope you will enjoy! I need a dog savvy owner who will extend my training to help me with my play manners and find fun outlets for my energy / My energy level is 7-9.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, and my Metro trainers are working with me on lots of great commands, polishing my leash skills (I’m jumpy and do some pulling right now), as well as other behaviors. I already know the ‘sit’ command and how to politely give my paw – so cute! I’m also picking up quickly on many basic commands / My crate manners are good / I am having several accidents right now, so please be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I like to PLAY and enjoyed running around in the outdoor playpens when at the shelter, so a fenced yard where we can have great play sessions together will make me a happy doggie. I love playing fetch with tennis balls and I enjoy rope toys and stuffed toys too! I also enjoy all of the affection that comes my way from my people and I sometimes get to sleep in bed with my trainer which I really like – bring on the snuggle / I can’t think of any dislikes, but I would not be happy if I did not have ways to burn off my energy through fun and engaging activities with my new family.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I am looking for an active family to give me a wonderful home that matches my energy level! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
