A VERY ACTIVE  AND FRIENDLY GUY:  4 years old / 39 lbs.  Mostly Mutts adoption facility is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week. I’m a handsome & active guy looking for a dog-savvy family with a good leader who will be very active with me! I love the great outdoors with my people & really enjoy, long walks, running, swimming & I even love riding in a boat! I was adopted a few months ago, but sadly lost my home due to a job change that includes a lot of travel. I got 1.5 hours of exercise a day in my home & did so well with that!  I went a lot of places with my former dad too, even stores like Home Depot & Lowes & I was just a great buddy! I liked the teen kids that I spent time with, greeted guests to the home happily & would then go and relax. Car rides are fine with me, because they lead to fun places & I wasn’t destructive in my home. I’m very playful, even by myself & I can amuse myself with my toys while you are on your computer—I’d be a great work from home office mate like I was to my former dad! And, when you need a break, I’ll come over & put my head on your lap for some ear scratches. My potty manners were good in the home during the day, though at night I had some accidents, so perhaps you can crate me, or I could stay in a bathroom at night. I’m proud to say that I’m a graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, but I have also earned the distinction of being an American Kennel Club Certified “Canine Good Citizen”!  I have mastered ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘lie down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘loose leash walking’, ‘waiting at doors’, ‘rollover’, & accepting strangers without jumping. I’ve also learned ‘leave it’ which is good if I get excited & a little play mouthy, & I would be happy if you follow that up with a treat/kibble to reinforce my good behavior. I do best with clear boundaries, so make sure to let me know whose boss (you!), and I will behave like the super smart, well-trained guy that I am. I did some agility training in the past which exercised my mind & my body, so perhaps we can do that together.  Though I don’t dislike all male dogs in general, & a male playmate or walking buddy isn’t out of the question, I just shouldn’t live with another male dog. Please talk to my trainer or Tammy T. for some insights on my dog friendships as I like to play hard & it will depend on the dog. I was respectful of an older dog in a home I visited & played respectfully with a female Chihuahua I met in my former home. I’ve also had many successful playdates with the other dogs at Mostly Mutts, but I’ll still occasionally meet a dog that I just don’t like. I may also be able to live with a kitty, it will just depend on the kitty, ask about this too.  I am a really sweet boy who cuddles & will melt into you. Older kids (10+), please, due to some past behavior & energetic nature. I can’t wait to find my forever home where I’ll get lots of consistent exercise, love & training! Energy level: 7-9. I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered, & my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar & leash.
