Leona

Gender: Female
Breed: Corgi
Secondary Breed: Mix
Status: Adoptable

A SHY BUT SWEET GIRL:  2 years old / 36 lbs.  Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  Hi, my name is Leona!  I am a sweet though shy girl who is learning what it means to be loved by the kind volunteers.   I may not have been treated very nicely in the past, as I tend to tuck my tail, cower a good bit and am skittish when out and about with people.  I DO enjoy being petted and giving nice kisses, so I expect my loving nature will bloom as I spend more time with the nice folks here and in my new home.  I have good leash manners, so nice walks are helping me warm up more quickly and feel more comfortable every day.  My potty habits are a work in progress, as I am having a few accidents on the shelter schedule.  Please continue to be consistent with me in this area, so I can master my potty skills.  I am a smart girl who has joined the Mostly Mutts University training program and has mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’ commands already.  I take treats nicely, so I bet you can teach me lots more things!  I came to Mostly Mutts with some hair loss and dry, flaky skin, but good food and great care are helping to clear that up.  I think I’ll ride well in a car, but you may need to lift me into the car until I learn to get in by myself.  I met a few dogs at MM’s and was shy with them, so if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. I also met the MM shelter kitty, and we all agreed that I shouldn’t live with cats. I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet if you have gentle kids and best no toddlers that I may bump over.  Sadly, I wasn't kept on Heart Worm prevention in my previous home, so I'm HW positive. The good news is that I'll be treated for that very soon and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that treatment with one of their vets.  I hope to be with my family before treatment starts!    Energy level: likely 4-6 once I’ve settled into my new home.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed, and my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar and leash.
