Lexy

Gender: Female
Breed: Terrier
Secondary Breed: Mix
Status: Adoptable

A SWEET AND LOVABLE GIRL: 1 year old / 34 lbs.

Hello there! My name is Lexy! I had a home, but the bigger dogs in the home were not very accepting of me. My family did not have the time to devote to making the situation good for both myself and the other dogs, so Mostly Mutts is going to help me find a new family to love!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I liked all the dogs I have met at Mostly Mutts and my former owner reported that I like other dogs – the other dogs in the home just didn’t like me, so if you have a dog already, let’s meet / I’ve not met cats at Mostly Mutts, though my previous family reported that I don’t really care for them. / I met kids recently at Mostly Mutts and I jumped up a little bit around them in excitement so kids age 10+ who will be okay with my exuberance would be best. And – of course, let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: Initially, I was a bit confused as to why I was at the shelter, so I’d give a growl when folks came in my room – but that was it! As soon as anyone talked to me or put a leash on me, I was their friend! I am an affectionate and very friendly girl who gives sweet kisses and I see myself as a lap dog. I am what I like to say, “just a bit goofy,” earning the description of being an ‘awesome dog’ from the volunteers who care for me. My former family reported that I liked to keep my food and treats to myself, but giving a little growl – but that was all I did / My energy level is 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am now a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer. I have already mastered the ‘sit’ command and have made progress with my leash walking, as the leash seemed brand new to me when I arrived at Mostly Mutts. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and were reportedly good in my previous home, too. / I was in a crate for long periods of time in my previous home (8+ hours), and reportedly had some accidents in the house. However, my potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule with very few accidents, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy all the volunteers and had fun during my photo shoot. Laps are awesome for snuggling in, too! I love to play and entertain the volunteers with my goofy zoomies in the play yard at Mostly Mutts, so perhaps a fenced yard in my new home would be a great place for us to make fun memories together. / I can’t think of any dislikes, but I would not be happy if I did not get the love, training, exercise and attention on which I thrive!

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a loving home where I will be a cherished family member! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
