ENERGETIC & LEARNING TO TRUST:  2 years old / 28 lbs. & needs to gain more weight    Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  Hi there!  My name is Maci!  I came to Mostly Mutts super shy and scared, so the nice volunteers and trainers started working with me right away to help me socialize and build my confidence!  It’s coming along and I’m blossoming into a loving and sweet natured doggie!  I am a higher energy gal, so please be prepared to make exercise and play a part of my routine and let’s have some fun together! Once I’ve had some fun exercise and playtime, I’m happy to settle in for a nap and a snuggle. I am a star student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, and I’ve already learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘down’, ‘go to your place’, ‘drop it’, and ‘leave it’ commands as well as proper door etiquette and loose leash walking.  I just need a little more work on my jumping as I am so happy to see my people and I like to greet them with a hug. I can jump a fence under 6 feet tall with no problem, so don’t leave me in a yard off leash until you’re sure I won’t jump it! I’ll come to you for scratches under my chin as I like that best.  Before long, I am sitting by you … or in your lap – hehe. I met a nice 10-year-old boy and his younger sister at the shelter and did great with them, so a home with kids around 10 (or maybe a little younger) could be fun! Best no very young children as I do tend to jump a bit, and I wouldn’t want to knock over any little ones. I really enjoy playing with the dogs I’ve met at MM’s, and I’ll need a friendly and playful dog in my new home.  You see, I’ve been in two temporary foster homes and I did well in the one with another dog but showed signs of separation anxiety in the other when the nice people there had to leave and there wasn’t a dog for me to stay behind with.  So, let’s meet if you have a friendly, playful doggie at home!  I’m not quite sure what to do with toys yet, but I think I’ll learn how fun they are soon!  My potty manners have been pretty good on the shelter schedule, and I did well in my temporary foster home, so just be consistent with me, so I can completely master my potty skills.  I prefer my people to being in a crate, so crate training is a work in progress for me, but if you put my crate in your bedroom, I’ll sleep in in nicely at bedtime.  Might you be my furever family?  Let’s meet and see!  Energy level: 6-8.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed, and my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar and leash.
