A FUN-LOVING, SPECIAL NEEDS GUY: 10 months old / Currently 14 lbs.

I was fortunate enough to be rescued from a terrible puppy mill while I was still young! Little did I know when I made my way to Mostly Mutts, that my life would forever be changed for the better! Now I’m in a wonderful foster home, having so much fun and being loved and shown kindness. I have some special needs as I am deaf and only have minimal eyesight. Read on as you see how I don’t let these things get me down!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I haven’t met other dogs in my foster home, but I came in with several dogs from my same situation, so let’s meet if you have a dog at home! A nice gentle introduction will be needed with other dogs due to my special needs / Cats unknown / I also haven’t met kids in my foster home, so let’s meet and best older kids that will keep things picked up and in their places, and that know how to live with a deaf and mostly blind doggie friend - let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a happy, fun-loving guy whom my foster family calls a ‘dream dog’, and I live up to all the good things that come with that description. I am playful and loving, as well as smart. My intelligence serves me well, as I learned the lay out of my surroundings quickly and adapted well. Just know that, I will be startled by a ‘new’ addition to the floor layout and bark to ask you to ‘explain’ it to me – lol. This will just help you keep your home picked up – what can I say, I’m a giver! I am also good at adjusting to my foster’s new habits and routines / My energy level is about a 4 – 6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: Given my near blindness, I am pretty intuitive at sensing unsafe situations though I need supervision with stairs or need to be carried on them. My foster family has mesh over the slats on the porch so I don’t fall through them when I sun myself – using the doggie door to go out / I have good crate manners in my foster home and sleep there through the night / I have good potty habits in my foster home too. A motion sensor light outside at night makes evening potty breaks safer for me, though remember to keep an eye on me so I’ll be safe.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I like all toys and LOVE my non-traditional toys best – an old Gatorade bottle and a crushed milk jug (hey – one doggy’s trash is another doggy’s treasure – lol). I enjoy chasing them all over the house. I play hard all morning, then head to my crate, where I wrap up in my comfy micro-fiber blanket for a snooze. In the evening, I enjoy hanging out on the couch with my people/on my people etc. I like mealtime and sometimes scoot my bowl to the bin where my food is kept – just to help you out – so cute! I also enjoy sunning myself on the porch on nice days / I may be uncomfortable with a lack of structure, but – other than that – I can’t think of any dislikes, though I would not be happy if I did not get the love and attention all doggies deserve!

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I am looking for a structured home with routines that make will make my life enjoyable! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
