A SWEET NATURED FELLOW:  6 years old / 33 lbs.  Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  Hi, I’m Newcomb!   I am a sweet, calm fellow who enjoys being with people and collecting all the petting that comes my way!  I enjoy my walks with the volunteers and have pretty good leash manners – though I can be a little stubborn when you want to go one way and I want to go the other, but the volunteers say I am getting better about this.  They say I may even make a good slower jogging partner.  I like car rides, so maybe we can go on adventures together.  My potty habits are very good on the shelter schedule and were also excellent in my temporary foster home, so I hope that will be the case in my new home. I was quiet and well-behaved in my temp. foster home, and I listened when told “no”. I liked napping in my crate with the door open during the day, and I didn’t mind staying in the crate when my hosts left the house. My playful side came out as I settled in, and I enjoyed playing with a stuffed toy and I would playfully growl while I did so – so cute! I am a social and sweet guy!  I met some dogs at MM’s and I liked the female dogs, but not the males. I also got along better with the mellow senior dogs I met than the younger, more active dogs. So, if you have a nice, mellow female doggie at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. When I met the MM shelter kitty I was respectful of her, but I did chase a cat in a home when I wasn’t properly introduced to her. The MM trainers think I could still do well in a home with a kitty if we have a proper introduction, and they are happy to provide more information on how to facilitate this. I loved the teen boys in my temp. foster home, but I haven’t met younger kids yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. I am a smart fellow and have just enrolled in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, and ‘come’ commands and proper door etiquette.  Stay tuned to see what else I can learn.   If you are looking for a sweet new friend, come spend some time with me and see if I fit the bill.  Energy level: 4-6.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered, and my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar and leash.
