A BEAUTIFUL GIRL: 5 yrs. old / 45 lbs.

Hi, my name is Willow! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am enjoying the training and good care I’m receiving and can’t wait to meet my new family soon! I got to participate in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I love to play with the other dogs I’ve met at Mostly Mutts, so if you have a playful dog at home, let’s meet! I do sometimes try to mount other dogs in play, but hopefully I’ll learn not to do that soon. / Cats unknown / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them, but I’m showing some new insecurities with adults that my trainer is working on with me and due to this, Mostly Mutts thinks a home with no kids is best.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: It takes me some time to decompress and trust you, but once I do, we can be best friends! I am insecure at times, so when someone enters my space that I don't know I will warn with a growl or show teeth. This is because I am nervous, but if you let me approach you, I have been okay. Once I get to know you, I am a super sweet, friendly girl with a gentle nature. I tend to form a strong bond with a small group of people. My core group in the prison/foster training program was three. I will do better in a home where my family unit is consistent and there are not new people coming and going. Apartment/townhome living will not be a good fit for me due to so many comings and goings. I’ve just started showing some new insecure/uncertain behaviors that Mostly Mutts is working on with me, so I will need you to talk to the head trainer for more details on this. / My energy level is 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I even know how to greet you by giving my paw – ‘nice to meet you’. / My crate manners have been good at Mostly Mutts and in the prison/foster training program. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter and prison/foster training program schedules.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy my time spent with the shelter volunteers who care for me – walking nicely on my leash then sitting on the bench afterwards to collect all the petting. In fact, I love the pets so much, I will lean my whole body into you to say ‘don’t stop now’ – so sweet. I sure would like to chase those squirrels sometime! Training is one of my favorite times of the day because I love the treats. / The noise coming from other dogs at the shelter made me a bit anxious, so they moved me to a quieter room to help me relax – but that may just be my reaction to shelter life. I don’t like being restrained at the vet’s office, so I’m being trained to wear a muzzle for vet visits, and I did great getting my nails trimmed by my trainer this way. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a home where I will be a much-loved family member! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
