A SWEET & FUNNY LAP DOG: 7 years old / 13.5 lbs.

Hi there! My name is Andra! When I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, I had a large wound of unknown origin (the vet thought perhaps I got tangled in a barbed wire fence?). I was treated for this before coming to Mostly Mutts but needed further treatment when the skin around the wound did not heal properly. Fortunately, with good vet care, several wound cleanings, bandage changes and a loving foster - I am healing nicely, and I can’t wait to meet my new family!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I get along and play a bit with the other dog in my foster home, though I can be possessive of food and should be fed separately from other dogs as I have gotten into a scuffle over food. I am wary of the dogs I pass when on my leash. So, if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals / I didn’t care for cats before coming to my foster home, but the kitty here is pretty fearless and stands up to me. If you have a kitty that will stand their ground and not run from me, we may be able to live together, so let’s meet / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no very young kids that may fall on me.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a super sweet and funny girl that my foster has nicknamed ‘Ms. Personality’. I’m attuned to being talked to and I almost seem to be formulating an answer when you look at me – lol. I’m also a Velcro dog and will pop on your lap the moment you sit down if invited. And I love to follow my foster around though I will go lay down nicely if she lets me know it’s time for some alone time. I’m all about being sweet with my person, but I may need a few minutes to welcome strangers as I have a little protective streak. So, after a good introduction I soon relax and count visitors among my ‘potential laps’ in my foster home / My energy level is 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I don’t know any specific commands right now, as I’ve been spending my time healing, but you can probably teach me some great doggie commands or tricks. My foster says that I do need leadership when I’m on alert or feeling protective / I sleep in my crate at night and like to be covered with a blanket – then I’m off to sleep / I’ve done fairly well with my potty skills in my foster home, though I have had a few accidents. I do use a pee pad, and my foster leaves those out for me - especially if she needs to be gone for a bit. Please just continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can finish mastering my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to go on my 2 daily walks with my foster which has helped me lose several pounds. Naps are nice and if the sun is shining a short nap in the sun feels nice. Laps of course are on my list of likes as are comfy blankets. Mealtime is great, but don’t let me gain the weight I just lost by overfeeding me please / Except for my reaction to dogs while on my leash, and needing to be fed separately from dogs, I can’t think of any other dislikes – but I would not be happy if I did not get the love, training, and attention that all dogs need!

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. The wound I came in with is doing really good! I still have a large scab that is continuing to heal, so my foster keeps me in dog clothes to keep it covered.

I am looking for a loving home where I will be a cherished family member! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
