Bessie

Gender: Female
Breed: Labrador
Secondary Breed: Hound
Status: Adoptable
A WONDERFUL & ENERGETIC PUPPY:  4 – 5 months old / Currently 22 lbs. and growing

Hi there!  My name is Bessie – a darling puppy who ended up at animal control.  Luckily, Mostly Mutts felt that they could find a great home for me, so I am now a part of the Mostly Mutts family – playing and frolicking in my foster home – just waiting for my furever family to find me!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I absolutely love the other dogs in my foster home, and we play a great deal together, so if you have another dog, we would likely get along best if they are looking for a playmate., so let’s meet.  Also, the dogs in my foster home play ‘bitey face’ with me, and we all love it.  If you have a doggie, you may need to oversee our playtime for bitey face, to see if you dog is a fan / I am curious about the cat in my foster home, but not in an aggressive way -  just barking when I can’t see what’s going on with them, as I like to check out their activities / I’ve not met kids yet, but I am young and very people oriented, so I would probably enjoy children in my new home, but best no toddlers that I may bump over with my puppy enthusiasm, and – of course, let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster says I am a charming girl who will be devoted to my people – to the point that they will fall in love with me.  Yes, that’s my plan!  I am happy and social – greeting all the humans I meet with a wagging tail.  I am super chatty and make high pitch noises when I want to play… and I DO want to play, as I am quite spunky.  I am adventurous and like to explore the yard, where I am currently digging a hole to China for my foster family / My energy level is 6-8 so I will want regular exercise with my family.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog – including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy - so get ready for some training with your new best friend.  I already know the ‘sit’ and ‘lay down’ commands, but need enforcement with them right now, as my excitement can get the better of me during training time.  I am also polishing up my leash manners / I am not a huge crate fan, as I would rather be with my people.  If I am in there and can see my people, it is better.  At bedtime, I bark a bit more, but do settle down / My potty habits are pretty good, with just a couple of accidents in my foster home.  My foster has learned to watch for my sign of wandering quietly, which means I need to go out.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like other dogs, my people, then toys – in that order.  Plushy toys are a favorite of mine, so I would like those in my new home / I am a puppy, so I don’t know many dislikes, I am very much a people dog, so I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training.

• MEDICAL:  I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.  I’m also micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a family that will be devoted to my training and raise to be a cherished member of the family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
