A VERY SWEET GUY: 10 years old / 40 lbs. and needs to gain some weight
Hi I’m Bill! I was rescued from animal control, and I sure am enjoying all the nice volunteers that are taking care of me, and the good care I’m receiving while I wait to find my new family! I need to gain a little weight which I’m working on now, and I’m heartworm positive and will be treated for that soon thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met some dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and although I didn’t want to play with them, I also didn’t show any aggression. Mellow dogs may be best due to my age. If you already have a nice dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown / I also haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me since I’m an older fellow.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers describe me as a very happy fellow who is also very sweet, calm, friendly and a great dog who thinks he’s a lap dog. The photographer said that I was a good boy who just wants loving! / My energy level is 3 – 5.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a new student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and can't wait to learn lots of new skills with my trainer! I know the ‘sit’ command so far and I’m sure you can teach me even more. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’m doing well with my potty manners on the shelter schedule.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love being with people and I sure do enjoy all the petting, love and attention that comes my way. I’m sure we will discover many more likes together. / So far, I haven’t noticed any dislikes, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention and training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m on an over-the-counter joint supplement which is good for all older dogs. Unfortunately, my previous owner did not keep me on a monthly heartworm preventative, so I am heartworm positive. I'll be treated for that soon thanks to a grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization! My treatment will be completed with the Mostly Mutts veterinarian so local adoption only. I hope to be with my family before treatment starts!
