Gender: Female
Breed: Labrador
Secondary Breed: Mix
Status: Adoptable

LOOKING FOR MY LOVING HOME: 4 years old / 42 lbs.

Hi! I’m Brandy! When animal control found me, I had a stick embedded in my eye. Ouch! I don’t remember how THAT happened, but they had the stick removed and Mostly Mutts did all they could to try to save my eye, but in the end, it had to be removed. I’m happy since its no longer uncomfortable and I’m doing just fine with one eye!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: No dogs as I react negatively to other dogs in an aggressive way, though with a correction I’m doing better in my fosters neighborhood / Cats unknown, but I would likely not do well with them / I met a 10-year-old boy and a slightly younger girl at Mostly Mutts and did well with them, so let’s meet! Just remember the children should not walk me since I react to other dogs I see on my walks.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I don’t let the fact that I have an eye injury dampen my spirits at all as I am a super sweet, tail wagging and very friendly girl! I have shown a little apprehension with some male volunteers, so just give me a little time to warm up to you if you’re a male. My current foster says that treats help with that / My energy level is 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I have already mastered ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘leave-it’, ‘drop-it’, ‘stay’, ‘place’, ‘down’ proper door etiquette and accepting nice strangers without jumping, so I’m one smart pup! Keep a good hold of my leash as I sometimes bark and lunge at cars that drive by during my walks at MMs and at my foster’s home and I love to chase squirrels or most anything I see outside. I’m working on my leash skills with my trainer, and it’s coming along, though still may take some time. I take treats nicely, so my training should be fun for us both / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and at my foster’s house / I am doing great with my potty habits on the shelter schedule and at my foster home.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I am a fan of people, toys and my food. I also enjoy being petted, if it is above my hips, where I seem to have some sensitivity. I love to play fetch and I’ll happily bring the ball back to you for another toss. Though I lost my eye to an embedded stick, I do still like playing with sticks when I’m out with my people. My temp foster mom worked longer days and I’d like it if I had a family member at home that wasn’t gone a long day. However, my current foster is home more, and I love all the attention! / I wouldn’t want to live in close proximity of other dogs, so best no apartment, condo type home. Also, I currently am not very comfortable with moving cars, but that may change with time.

• MEDICAL: My eye was removed after attempts to save it from an injury that occurred before I came to MM’s. But don’t feel bad for me as I don’t and I’m just as loving as I was before! I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a great family that will give me a loving home! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
