Brindley

Gender: Female
Breed: American Bulldog
Secondary Breed: Mix
Status: Adoptable

A SWEET/SHY COMPANION: 8 years old / 35 lbs.

Hi, my name is Brindley! I had a home with an owner that loved me very much, but they needed to go to assisted living and were not always able to meet my needs prior to moving. That makes me sad, but I’m thankful that I am in good hands with Mostly Mutts, and that they will help me find a new family to love and be loved by in a nice quiet home.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: No dogs in my new home please as I showed avoidance and flight behavior when I met dogs recently at Mostly Mutts. / I’m reported to like cats from my previous owner, so if you have a dog-friendly kitty at home, let’s meet. / I met a nice boy and girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and showed no interest in them. So, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or rambunctious kids since I am looking for a calm and quiet home.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I think I lived in a very quiet home with my older person previously, so life at the shelter, though very nice, is a bit overwhelming for me. (Walking near cars with a lot of traffic noise, squeaky gates, other dogs barking, etc.) so I’d absolutely love a nice quiet type of home without a lot of commotion. Upon arrival at the shelter, I was quite scared – likely confused about losing my home. With the care and love from the volunteers, I have been warming up, and my calm sweet nature is emerging more each day. I was a bit of a door dasher, but now that I’ve settled in a bit, I leave my kennel quietly... though you should be vigilant about open doors and gates in my new home as I get settled in. I’m not super playful yet at the shelter, but perhaps you can show me how much fun toys can be. / My energy level is 4-5.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a new student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and can't wait to learn lots of new skills with my trainer! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty manners are pretty good with just a few accidents on the shelter schedule, and I am reported to have been potty trained in my former home. So, just continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, and I think I’ll do well.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I like to spend time with the volunteers who come to care for me. I was used to having my owner home with me, so a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member would make me a happy girl. I’d also like a quieter home. / The barking dogs, strange noises, and loud traffic – a part of shelter life – makes me a bit nervous. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am receiving medicated baths twice a week to help with my hair loss from flea allergies. I can have these baths in my new home – and I’ve been very good for them. I have an older lady skin tag on my back end, but it doesn’t bother me, and I hope it won’t bother you. I also have a bit of swollen tissue above my front teeth which is benign and common.

I am looking for a home where I will be a cherished member of the family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw,Ga.
