A SWEET-NATURED / RECOVERING GIRL: 7 - 8 months old / Currently 33 lbs. and growing

Hello, my name is Callie! I arrived at Mostly Mutts from animal control with a fractured tibia, and immediately got the good vet care and surgery I needed. After several weeks (which felt like forever!) of controlled crate rest, my healing tibia has responded well, and now I can do a few things outside my crate! I’m still on a good healing plan with restrictions and I hope to be released in Mid-January to be a full-on puppy again!! Mostly Mutts is happy to talk to you about my continued recovery plan if you think I may make a nice addition to your family!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I seemed fine with the other dogs in my temporary foster home, though I was on strict crate rest for my injury and did not really get to interact with them, so if you have a dog, let’s meet (Though I cannot play with other dogs yet until I’ve fully recovered) / Cats Unknown / I’ve not met kids yet while with Mostly Mutts. I may enjoy them in my new home, but best they be a bit older, as I have some playful mouthiness as a puppy, and – of course, let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a sweet, affectionate girl with a fun personality. Though my activity has been very limited out of necessity, due to my tibia healing, I am ready for the day I can run free and be my naturally active puppy self. I am social and always happy to see the volunteers who come to care for me. I start giving kisses as soon as they come to see me - lol / We think that I’ll have a high energy level once I’m able to be myself again at about a 6-8, so I’ll likely need regular exercise.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am now a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer. I’m well on my way to being a star student, as I have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’ and ‘leave it’ commands thus far. Check back soon to see what else I’ve learned / My crate manners have been good – especially considering I have needed to spend a good bit of time in one as I healed. I’m pretty excited when I come out of it (I am a puppy, after all – lol) and still need to be kept calm while my leg finishes healing / I’ve had pretty good potty habits on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: The volunteers have dubbed me a ‘people dog’, as I like being with my people and can’t wait to be active with them soon. I like to give kisses and shower them with affection. I also like getting it in return – lol / I can’t think of any real dislikes, but I would not be happy if I did not get the love, attention, exercise, and training all doggies deserve.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a home with a loving and attentive family that will see me through the rest of my healing process and then include me in on all the family fun! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
