A SWEET AND ACTIVE GIRL:  5 years old / Approx. 43 lbs. and needs to lose some weight  Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week. I’m a very happy natured and loving dog who didn’t have the best life prior to coming to MM’s, but I haven’t let it get me down at all.  I say, let go of the past and enjoy the present!  You see I came to MM’s extremely underweight, so I got to eat extra meals each day to help me gain weight. I was so happy to be eating lots of yummy food that I gained a bit too much during my Heart worm treatment. (I’m finished with that now.) So now I need to lose about 6 pounds. Oops! Not to worry, I love playing and am full of energy, so I should be able to get that weight off in no time. I’m looking for a family that will be active with me to help with my weight loss and’s fun!  I love all the volunteers I’ve met and crave attention and love, I’m very much a people dog.  In my foster home, I love riding in the car, I don’t bark much, and I like lots of tough toys to chew on. I’m also a premier cuddler - I give lots of kisses and occasionally I’ll ask for a petting in the cutest way by nudging your hand! I love deeply and seem to have a protective nature as well. My potty manners have been good in my foster home, and I try my best not to chew on your things but may need a little direction there. I’m a smart girl, and as a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program I’ve already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘down’, ‘leave it’, and ‘go to place’ commands as well as loose leash walking and waiting at doors before walking in/out on command! My trainer says I’m a good listener who is eager to please. I should be your only dog as I’ve met a few dogs at MM’s and I didn’t like them at all!  They made me very uncomfortable and I did try to bite them. For this reason, I shouldn’t live in an apartment/condo type environment as the quarters are too close to other dogs when walking. I’ll be an excellent only dog, though, between my super playful and super sweet nature, I’m sure to keep you busy and I know you’ll love me!  Energy level:  5-7. I met a nice 10-year-old boy at the shelter and did well with him, so a home with kids that age or older (ages 10 and up) could be a good fit for me. Just remember, the kids shouldn’t walk me due to my dislike for other dogs. If you have kids, let’s meet.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed, and my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar and leash.
