A VERY SHY BUT SWEET FRIEND:  3 years old / 21 lbs.  Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm. Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week. My beloved mother passed away & I, along with my best doggie friend Bagel find myself looking for a new home. Here’s a little bit about my history. I originally came from a dog hoarding situation, so I wasn’t socialized when I was younger, & I do continue to be a very shy dog. I’ve blossomed quite a bit in the 2 years my mom had me, though many things still frighten me. A nice quiet & relaxed type home would be just wonderful. I’ve lived with women most of my life, but I met a nice man in my temp. foster home & we bonded quickly, so I don’t think I’m scared of men (as long as they are kind & gentle, of course). I enjoy chewing on bones & playing with toys, going for walks in a quiet environment & I ride well in the car with my best friend Bagel. She & I love to romp around each day - she’s also looking for a new home. I follow her lead in almost everything, so my ideal home would be with her if possible. It’s not a must that we stay together, but I must have another friendly dog in my new home as I do draw comfort & security from other nice dogs. I’ve met & liked many other dogs, so if you have another dog, let’s meet! No kitties please as I chased them in a temp foster home. I’m quiet-natured, have not been destructive in the home & have good potty manners. I also haven’t needed a crate in my foster home. I’m very loving once I get to know you, & head scratches & belly rubs are my favorite! If I’m being fearful or stubborn & don’t want to do something, just put my leash on & I’m like putty in your hands! In my foster home, I love to sniff & explore in the backyard & then play with my buddy Bagel until we’re tired & then we take a nice nap together. I like to snuggle up under a light blanket when I sleep, which is very cute. I haven’t yet learned how to take treats gently – likely from my hoarding days, but I’ve not been mean about food, just not gentle with treats. Speaking of food, sometimes I can be a bit of a picky eater, but a little canned food & hand feeding should do the trick. My mom was home a lot, so I don’t know how I would do if you were gone for a full workday.  I could use some leash training as I tend to pull a bit, & a harness may help with that too.  I’m shy with kids, but may do well with older quiet natured kids, so let’s meet. Come meet me & see if I’m the perfect addition to your family – & meet Bagel too please!  Energy level: 4-6.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered, and my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar and leash.
