Dansby

Gender: Male
Breed: Boxer
Secondary Breed: Retriever
Status: Adoptable

A SWEET-NATURED PLAYMATE:  1 year old / 31 lbs.    Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  Hi!  My name is Dansby!  When we meet, I think you are going to love my sweet nature and playful, rambunctious style.  I am always happy to see my people, as I seem to know that means ‘play time’!  Once play time is over, though, I happily settle down and let you hug me, give me tummy rubs (my favorite) and pet my super soft ‘rabbit-like’ coat, for which I will thank you with nice kisses. My foster mom says I’m an expert cuddler, and I like to lay in her lap with my head right under her chin, so cute! I pull some on my leash and sometimes I nibble on your shoes as we walk (oops!), but – no worries – my foster family is working with me on this and has already seen improvement. I am very smart and already know ‘sit’, ‘down’, and ‘come’.  I ride nicely in cars, so take me along on some fun adventures with you!   My potty manners are pretty good in my foster home with just a few accidents, and I’ve done a good job of letting my foster family know when I need to go out. A fenced yard would be great for me as I do take some time to do my #2 business, so please be patient and continue to be consistent with me so I can master my potty skills. When I lived at the shelter, I was a little dog reactive when I was in my crate, but once I was out and about I did fine. I’ve met some other dogs at MM’s and liked them, and I get along with the two dogs in my foster home. I love to play and wrestle with the one who is close to my size, and I’ve observed and learned a lot from both of my furry foster brothers. I’d really enjoy a dog around my age and size in my new home to pal around with, so if you have a nice doggie like that, let’s meet and see if we can be good friends. I love to play with toys, so please have lots of tough, durable toys for me. I haven’t gotten into anything I shouldn’t in my foster home, and having lots of toys available has likely helped.  I haven’t met kids yet, so but they may be fun to have in my new home, but best no small children, as I am a strong playful guy, and don’t want to accidently bump over small kids when playing – and, of course, let’s meet!  Energy level: 6-8.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered, and my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar and leash.
