VERY ACTIVE & FRIENDLY DEAF GIRL: 2 years old / 53 lbs.  Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm. I’m currently in the prison foster/training program off site and learning so much! I’ll be returning on Sept. 3rd so you can inquire at 770-272-6888 to get details on meeting me. Hi! I’m Dot! My exuberant, playful and loving nature makes me a great dog who is looking for my great family to be active with. I am a deaf girl, but that does not dampen my spirits one bit, as I have a happy nature and want what every dog wants – to love and be loved. In fact, when I visited the prison foster/training program for a day trip, I immediately started showing off my fun personality and was so well-behaved that all the participants in the program fell in love and I got to stay! Now, though deaf, I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program and have learned ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, ‘drop it’, ‘place’, proper door etiquette, and accepting friendly strangers without jumping. They even taught me to ‘wave’, and a fun ‘bang bang’ trick! My leash manners are also good with a gentle leader or a special orange leash that works like a harness, so just ask about those. I’m currently working on my Canine Good Citizen Testing. My trainer will be glad to teach you the hand signals for all the skills I’ve acquired! Once properly exercised I take good naps and enjoy chilling out! I absolutely love toys and balls are my very favorite! I will even entertain myself with both the toys and balls – so cute!  Check out my photo gallery online at SmugMug from the main MM site, as I really hammed it up for the camera with my toys. If I am not playing or getting some exercise with you, which I need daily, I am seeking affection from my people, so please have lots of petting and tummy rubs waiting for me! I’m great in the car, so let’s ride! My potty manners have been great on the shelter schedule too. I do well in my crate, and in the prison/foster program I have been left in my room for up to 2 hours unattended.  As long as I was left with toys to play with, I did very well, without toys I found things to get into. I’ve met other dogs at MM’s and like playing with them, a lot!  I’m also a pretty hard player, so if you have a dog that also likes to play harder, let’s meet! I also met the MM shelter kitty, and was very curious and playful with her, but I was also respectful when she gave me a swat, so let’s meet if you have a kitty that likes dogs. I’ve met some kids at MM’s, and we think a home with kids 15+ could be a good fit for me as I like kids but can get excited at times and could overwhelm younger kids. I’ve started taking a medication called Apoquel for some skin issues, so just ask about that. Energy level: 6-8.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed, and my adoption fee is $299.00.
