A VERY ACTIVE & FUN-LOVING GUY:   6.5 years old / 72 lbs. and needs to lose a little bit of weight  6.5 years old / 69 lbs. and needs to lose a little bit of weight  Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  I’m an active & sweet guy who lost my home after a baby was born & because I play a bit too rough for young kids.  I do like kids, they just need to be older.  I’ve met a few kids between the ages of 10 & 13 & did well with them. I sometimes bark when they run – I think it’s an excitement bark cause I’m a go getter!  I have a loving, fun & loyal nature & I wasn’t destructive in my previous home, so that’s a good thing. I was also well-behaved in my temporary foster home & didn’t need a crate when my hosts left the house. I do need a good bit of exercise daily to be happy as a good walk is calming for me & I tend to get antsy if I don’t get enough exercise. Plus, exercise will help me lose a little weight as I’m just a few pounds overweight right now.  I love to run around rain or shine, & I’m an excellent hiking buddy. I’m just happy to be out & about with the nice volunteers. I play hard & like to rough house, & I need to be the alpha dog in my dog relationships, so if you have a dog at home that would enjoy my high-energy, rough style of play & doesn’t have an alpha temperament, let’s meet! I met the shelter kitty, & I was curious but respectful of her. So, if you have a nice kitty at home let’s meet & it’s best we take things slow. I love being with my people & crave their attention & I enjoy lying in the sun & taking a nap after a nice walk or a good playtime. I’m enrolled in the Mostly Mutts University training program, & I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’, & ‘go to your place’ commands. I’ve also learned to wait patiently at doors before going in/out on command & to greet nice strangers without jumping. I’m finishing up my loose leash walking training now so that I can get my doggie diploma! I’m doing well with my potty manners on the shelter schedule & I do well in my large crate too. My potty manners were excellent in my temporary foster home as well. The volunteers say that I’m a sweet loving boy & that I enjoy chin scratches, playing, have a curious nature & that I enjoy their attention & love!  I have an infection on my belly & it’s been going on for a long time, so I’m on an allergy medication that I’ll likely need to stay on called Apoquel.  It helps with lots of skin issues, so that & medicated baths will hopefully get me all fixed up.  However, my underside is discolored, & we don’t think that will change, but I don’t mind & hope you won’t either. Energy level: 6-8.  Come meet me & let’s have some fun together! Check out my Instagram page (Dwayne @dwaynethedoggo) for some fun & cuteness to brighten your day! I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed / neutered, & my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar & leash.
