A VERY ACTIVE & FUN-LOVING GUY:   6.5 years old / 72 lbs. and needs to lose a little bit of weight  Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  I’m an active and sweet guy who lost my home after a baby was born and because I play a bit too rough for young kids.  I do like kids, they just need to be older.  I met a 10-year-old boy at the shelter and did well with him.  I’ve also spent a little time with an 11 and 13-year-old and did well.  I sometimes bark when they run – I think it’s an excitement bark cause I’m a go getter!  I have a loving, fun and loyal nature and I wasn’t destructive in my previous home, so that’s a good thing. I was also well-behaved in my temporary foster home and didn’t need a crate when my hosts left the house. I preferred getting out for walks over yard time, though I did enjoy sniffing around in the yard. I do need a good bit of exercise daily to be happy as a good walk is calming for me and I tend to get antsy if I don’t get enough exercise. Plus, exercise will help me lose a little weight as I’m just a few pounds overweight right now.  I love to run around rain or shine, and I’m an excellent hiking buddy. I’m just happy to be out and about with the nice volunteers. I play hard and like to rough house, and I need to be the alpha dog in my dog relationships, so if you have a dog at home that would enjoy my high-energy, rough style of play and doesn’t have an alpha temperament, let’s meet!  I love being with my people and crave their attention and I enjoy lying in the sun and taking a nap after a nice walk or a good playtime. I’m enrolled in the Mostly Mutts University training program, and I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’, and ‘go to your place’ commands. I’ve also learned to wait patiently at doors before going in/out on command and to greet nice strangers without jumping. I’m finishing up my loose leash walking training now so that I can get my doggie diploma! I’m doing well with my potty manners on the shelter schedule and I do well in my large crate too. My potty manners were excellent in my temporary foster home as well. The volunteers say that I’m a sweet loving boy and that I enjoy chin scratches, playing, have a curious nature and that I enjoy their attention and love!  I have an infection on my belly and it’s been going on for a long time, so I’m on an allergy medication that I’ll likely need to stay on called Apoquel.  It helps with lots of skin issues, so that and medicated baths will hopefully get me all fixed up.  However, my underside is discolored, and we don’t think that will change, but I don’t mind and hope you won’t either. Energy level: 6-8.  Come meet me and let’s have some fun together!  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed / neutered, and my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar and leash.
