Fiona

Gender: Female
Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier
Secondary Breed: Mix
Status: Adoptable

A LIVELY AND LOVABLE PUPPY: 4 – 5 months old / Currently 24 lbs.

Hi there! I’m Fiona! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and battled a yucky upper respiratory infection. I am doing good now though, and ready to meet my new family!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home. and would enjoy another dog to play with in my new home if you have a nice doggie that would like a puppy friend. I can be rambunctious, am still learning about personal space and will be a big girl, so a larger, high energy and confident dog would likely be the best fit for me, and – of course let’s meet / I like the dog-friendly cat in my foster home, but I can be overwhelming for many cats, as I want to play with them just like a dog - pouncing, chasing and playing feistily, so -depending on the cat – caution should be used / I haven’t met kids in my foster home, but I have lots of puppy energy and my play bites have some punch, so best no small children or toddlers that I may bump over and – of course, let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am sweet, happy, rambunctious, wiggly and adorable. I am equally ‘opinionated’ and head strong, so I will need a dog-savvy owner who is knowledgeable about my breed and how to continue my training as the ‘boss’. I am very social – with both people and my doggie friends alike, and I am happiest when I am always touching at least one of them – lol / My energy level is 6-8, so I’ll want a family that will be active with me!

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog – including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy - so get ready for some training with your new best friend. I am a big fan of treats, so that should make my training fun / I am not a fan of the crate, especially when I know you are nearby. I definitely prefer being with my people. I can be vocal in there, so an apartment or condo would not be a good fit for me / My potty training is work in progress, as I am a puppy. I am starting to give a bark signal when I need to go out – though it sometimes hard to distinguish from my play bark. My foster estimates I am about 60% successful with my potty skills right now on a good schedule, so just be consistent while I master this skill.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I like all kinds of toys, my doggie friends and my people. A lap is my favorite place to be. As I grow, you can teach me that I can get just as much love being NEXT to you, rather than ON you. LOL I am a big chewer, so I love nyla bones. Once I’m done playing, I love to be a couch potato… with my people, of course / I don’t like being separated from my people and will let you know. Likewise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention and training.

• MEDICAL: I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow. I’m also micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a dog-savvy owner who will be dedicated to my training, so I can grow into a great adult dog! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
