Hallie

Gender: Female
Breed: Treeing Walker Coonhound
Secondary Breed: Labrador
Status: Adoptable

AN ACTIVE, FUN AND SMART GIRL: 1 year old / Approx. 70 lbs.

Hi there, I’m Hallie! I was adopted as a little puppy, but It’s obvious that I needed more training than my family could provide, so I’m looking for a family that will provide that for me ongoing. Thankfully, I got to participate in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  Though I love playing with other dogs, I am a dominant female and possessive of my toys and food with other dogs. I started working on this in the prison/foster training program and will continue socialization with my trainer at the shelter, but best no other dogs for now / Cats unknown, but I don’t think so / I met a nice 10-year-old boy and a girl slightly younger than that at Mostly Mutts and did some jumping when they ran and I am a big girl, so kids 15+ may be a good match for me.  Let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m an active girl, though I know how to chill and be a little independent too. I’m affectionate, curious, can be animated and can be loud when I’m getting used to new places or a little excited. An apartment/condo would not be a good fit for me for that reason and because I just need more space than an apartment/condo type home. / I have a high energy level at 6 – 8, so I’ll need regular exercise with my family such as hikes and going places that I can sniff around.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop-it’, ‘leave it’, and ‘go to your place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners walking with the gentle leader as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I want a family with a strong leader that enjoys training and exercising with their dog as well as making sure I follow the rules as most Hounds need this / I’m doing well in my crate with a little initial whining / My potty manners have been good in the prison/foster training program and on the shelter schedule too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love attention and will place my paw on you at times to get more. In fact, I like it when there’s a hand on me. Cuddling is fun too / I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL: I’m current on my immunizations, micro-chipped and spayed.

If you’re looking for a fun, active and smart dog, and you enjoy training and exercising with your dog, we could be a great match! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
