Huck

Gender: Male
Breed: Hound
Secondary Breed: Catahoula
Status: Adoptable

ACTIVE AND GOOD-NATURED:  5 years old / 41 lbs.  Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  I am one handsome boy who is sure to charm you with my fun-loving and active nature.  I was adopted from MM’s 2 months ago, but I need more exercise than they could provide so, I’m back with MM’s and looking for a family that will love to exercise with me.  I love going for walks, little runs, the community park where I can meet and sometimes play with other dogs.  Though at MM’s I’m not a big player with other dogs, so I guess it may be environmentally based.  I also seem to understand the dogs that want to play and the ones that don’t, so I’m smart like that!  If you have another dog, let’s meet and see if we will be friends.  I should not live with cats as a neighbors outside kitty drove me a little bonkers and I broke through the small window pane to chase it.  I love outside time with my people and I think I’d like a job or very regular activity, so please be prepared to do lots outside fun things with me!   A fenced yard where I’d have some time to watch and chase the birds and squirrels and hang out with you would be the best!  Please be careful at doors and gates, so I don’t get out and lost.  Hanging out with you for some hugs and cuddles once my exercise needs are met, also makes me a happy guy.  I enjoy tennis balls, bones and stuffed toys too, and I’ve been good in my crate – treat please!  Gentle correction seems to be all I need as I like pleasing my people.  I’m not a fan of rain, but that’s true of a lot of dogs.  I am strong and do pull on leash, but the volunteers are working with me on that.  I’ve already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘down’, and ‘drop it’ commands, so I’m a smart guy.  I liked the kids I met while in my former home, but can’t remember their ages, I think it was a variety of ages, so if you have kids, let’s meet and perhaps best no toddlers that I may bump over!  My potty manners were good in my former home and on the shelter schedule, though I’d rather do #2 in a yard vs. on a leash.  Make room in your heart and home for a great companion, and I will be glad to fill that role!  Energy level: 6-8.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered, and my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar and leash.
