READY FOR ACTION & ADVENTURE: 1 year old / 26 lbs.

My name is Janine and I'm one very active dog! I'm looking for a home where my person wants to be as active as I am! I can see myself learning to be a Frisbee dog, or perhaps an agility expert or running companion! So, if that sounds fun to you, let's meet. I got to spend some time in the prison foster/training program offsite and learned a lot, so I’m ready to show you how smart I am!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: No dogs as I simply do not read signals from other dogs and will nip, nip, nip to keep trying to get them to play with me, and when I'm overstimulated I just cannot control this / No cats as I play too rough and don't read their "I've had enough" signals / Older dog savvy children (ages 15+) could work for me as I met two kids at Mostly Mutts younger than that, and though I showed no aggression, I just could not control my enthusiasm. I jumped on them excitedly, and I was very mouthy when they ran around near me and when we played.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a happy gal who is a bundle of young dog energy! Playful, fun and affectionate, I am very alert, very active and seem to have good focus – ready to learn all I need to know to be a great friend. I’m looking for a dog savvy family that understands my high energy level and can help me burn and harness that energy. I did a redirect bite to a volunteer’s leg who was walking me when I say a hawk and wanted to go after It - just ask for more about this / Speaking of energy – my energy level is a 10+ which is very high, so plan to be active with me daily! (Some ways to help me burn my energy would be, hikes, walks, we could even try running together, agility training and Frisbee catching in the yard together, etc.). At Mostly Mutts, I wear a doggie backpack when on my walks, so ask about that.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave-it’, ‘drop-it’ and ‘go to your place’ commands! I’ve also learned how to greet friendly strangers without jumping when under good control, I use proper door etiquette and walk well on my leash. I must be properly exercised to show you all of these skills! I love treats so you can teach me even more / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts / I’ve had good potty habits on the shelter schedule, and in the prison/foster training program.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I like to play a lot and I enjoy being silly with the volunteers in the play yard at the shelter. I love Nyla bones and toys and I like holding one to keep my mouth busy while you harness me for a walk / I would not be a happy pup if I did not get much needed exercise, continued training and love.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a dog savvy family that will be very active with me! Adoption fee $299.00, & located in Kennesaw, Ga.
