A FUN, PLAYFUL, SMART GIRL! - 3 years old / 33 lbs.

Hi there, I’m Jess - a wonderful “follow you everywhere” girl! It takes me a minute to trust but once I do, I am your girl! I follow my foster mom & dad everywhere, I am a great office dog, & I love arranging my toys on my bed. I may have been mistreated in the past; I am a bit shy with hands over my head, but getting better every day. I am very quiet & do not bark at all in my foster home. I would prefer a quiet, calmer home.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I want to be your only dog as when I met other dogs at MM’s I got nervous & reacted poorly to them. I can walk on my leash around other dogs, but in my foster home I am a bit scared of them, so no other dogs is best for me. / I was respectful of the shelter kitty, so a nice kitty might be a good companion / Due to me not liking hands over my head, kids 15+ please.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a friendly, sweet, & playful girl. I love my backyard & like to spend time outside in the sun. I am very smart & love training & learning new things. It takes me a minute to trust so go slow & I warm up nicely! / My energy level is 4-6. I’m quiet & calm indoors but always ready for a game of fetch outside.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I’ve already mastered the following commands: ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘stay’, ‘drop-it’, ‘leave it’, meeting friendly strangers without jumping, & proper door etiquette. I love to play fetch & am the master of puzzle toys, I am very smart. / I do not need a crate & have not used one in my foster home, however, I am crate trained. I have not bothered anything at all, so yay me! / My potty manners are great in my foster home with no accidents.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I like to chew Nylabones & Kongs, but also like a game of tug & to carry around a squeaky toy. I love the outdoors & playing fetch. I like riding in the car. I like my human to be near! I also like to burrow under pillows or covers at night, so cute. / I do not like fireworks, they scare me. I don’t like hands over my head, my foster mom will show you how to put my slip leash on & off, I put it on & off myself! I nipped a volunteer once due to her putting her hands over my head with a leash when I first arrived at the shelter.

• MEDICAL: I’ve started a medication for a little anxiety which I may stay on, but it’s also possible that once I’ve settled in my new home, I could come off it in time. I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped & spayed.

I’m looking for a wonderful family where I can continue to learn to blossom. I adore my foster family & have accepted guests over the holiday season & was very friendly with them. My adoption fee is $299.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
