Joni

Gender: Female
Status: Adoptable

A VERY ACTIVE & FUN GAL: 3 years old / 52 lbs.

Hi, my name is Joni! I lived with an older couple and – after a few weeks in their home, it was evident that I was not their right match, as I am a young and energetic dog whose energy and activity needs require more than they could provide. Mostly Mutts is helping me find the right family for me to be the best doggie companion I can be! I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off site and learning a lot! Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I have an alpha female nature and will try to be dominant over females so no female dogs in my new home, but I am still a good candidate for doggie daycare as I play well with females, I just shouldn’t live with one. If you have a male dog with a lot of playful energy, let’s meet and see if we can be friends as I absolutely love to play with them! I am a vocal player / Cats Unknown / I met nice 10-year-old children in a home recently, and did well with them, so kids aged 10+ may be a good fit in my new home – let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: Initially, I am a bit shy - with a pensive gaze that is sure to melt your heart. When my true nature emerges, I am sweet and affectionate with all the playfulness of a young, energetic dog. I am happiest when my exercise needs are being met, then I am a calm and happy girl. The shelter environment is just a bit overwhelming to me, so I’m looking forward to being in a home soon. My trainer says I am a great dog! / My energy level is 7-9, so plan on being active with me! I can see myself going for hikes, maybe some runs or camping and exploring, etc. Although I am an energetic girl, I can also just chill in my room and self-entertain with my toys. My energy level when playing with dogs is even a bit higher.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘place’, ‘stay’, ‘drop-it’ and ‘leave it’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. My trainer uses a gentle leader for my walks / I was not thrilled with going into my crate at the shelter, but – again – in a home – though I didn’t love going into it, I did fine when I was inside. My trainer is working on guiding me into my crate and sometimes I go in all by myself. I have left things alone when I slept outside of my crate so maybe I won’t even need one in my new home! / I reportedly had good potty habits on a schedule in my previous home and my potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule as well as in the prison/foster training program.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to play and am a huge fan of tennis balls, rope toys, bones and being active with people! Once play time is over, I like to give gentle kisses while I hang out with my people. In the prison/foster program – I like to hog the bed – silly me! / I can’t think of any dislikes, but I would not be happy if I did not get the love, training, exercise, and attention all doggies deserve!

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for an active home with a family committed to my exercise needs. Let’s have lots of fun adventures together! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
