A GREAT COMPANION-IN-THE-MAKING! - 3 years old / Approx. 50 lbs.

I’m one lucky dog! The founder of Ride To Rescue saw a need for rescuing dogs that are living in rural situations without the medical care and human love that all dogs need! So, he went to work with the community, and I am one of those dogs that was rescued along with my ten 4-day old puppies who have been adopted already, so we are all on the road to a brand-new life! I’ve come a long way already but am very shy of new things and people. I am currently in the prison foster/training program offsite and learning so much! Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I’m available to meet.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I’m looking to be your only dog as I have been stressed around the dogs I’ve met at Mostly Mutts. I’ve growled and reacted to them by barking and lunging, so I shouldn’t live with other dogs. / Cats unknown / I have met kids (11 and 7) at Mostly Mutts, and I cautiously took treats from them when they sat calmly. I did start shaking when they ran around the room, so older (15+), calm kids in my home may be a good fit, and of course, let’s meet! No toddlers or very young kids.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am just the sweetest girl who wants SO badly to establish human contact. I spent a good portion (perhaps all) of my life thus far without it, so it is a slow, but steady adjustment and I am making progress every day. It is as if my brain is sending two conflicting signals – one side wants to run, but the other side has me wagging my tail and coming closer for affection. It took me about a day to get comfortable with my trainer in the prison program, though I still tend to flinch when I’m introduced to new things. / My energy level is currently 3-5, but will likely be more like 4-6 once I’m adjusted in my new family.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program. I know the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘down’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’, & ‘go to your place’ commands as well as loose leash walking, proper door etiquette, & accepting friendly strangers without jumping. I made great progress learning to trust in the prison program, but it may take me some time to feel comfortable with you before I show off all my skills. / I am quiet and did well in my little room at the shelter and occasionally greeted the volunteers with a nice ‘’Howwwl’ and sometimes a full-body tail wag when happy to see them – so cute / I have excellent potty manners in the prison program, and I let my trainer know I need to potty by nibbling on my crate and howling or whining.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love Pup-Peroni treats and slow, gentle people as well as gentle petting. As my confidence grows, so does my love of the kind people caring for me / I am frightened of loud sounds or anything that startles me and new situations and people. I also don’t like fast movements.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a loving and patient family who will nurture me on my journey to becoming a great furry family member! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
