A SWEET & ADORABLE OLDER FELLOW: 10 years old / 13 lbs.

Hi there I'm Marty! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control. I needed some good TLC & medical procedures (see medical below), so Mostly Mutts has helped me with those! Now I'm in a nice foster home waiting to find my furever family! Though I don't hear much, I can see well, & my sniffer is good, too!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I like the other little dog in my foster home so if you have a gentle dog at home already, let's meet / I've only met the kitty in my foster home once & I was very curious. I didn't seem to understand that his hiss meant that he didn't want to hang out with me. I didn't show any aggression, so if you have a dog friendly cat, let's meet / I haven’t met kids yet, but my foster thinks I would like them as long as they are gentle with me & respect that I wouldn't want to be carried, so let’s meet & best no very young kids that may fall on me.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a sweet, friendly & curious fellow who loves all 5 family members in my foster home as well as everyone else I've met. I'll follow my favorite person around to keep them company or take a nap close by. I follow closely & since I don't hear well, I may not know to step out of your way, so please watch out for me. I greet my favorite person by prancing/jumping around which is so cute. I'm not yet a lap dog, but my fosters have put soft blankets on the couch & lift me onto it to let me know that it's alright to sit with them on the furniture / My energy level is 3-5 & I have a good stride.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I know how to 'sit' & 'lay down' for treats! Since I do not hear much, I do these with hand signals & knowing you have a treat in hand - lol. I also come when you clap to get my attention & show me the come signal with your hand. I'll just trot right over to you / My crate manners are good & I sleep well in it at night next to my fosters' bed / My potty manners have also been very good in my foster home & I enjoy sniffing around the fenced yard a good bit.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love cushy dog beds & soft blankets! I even climbed in the chest that my foster keeps them in & took a nap - so cute! I also love to chew on bully bones & my mealtime with a little warm water in my kibble! Being outside with the family sunning or just hanging out while they are grilling is so nice & I just love chin & neck scratches / Since I'm a poodle, my eyes run just a little & I'm not crazy about having that wiped, but my foster is getting me used to it. I would not be happy if I didn't get the love & good care all dogs deserve!

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered. I've just had my teeth cleaned & a lot pulled, so my mouth is healthy again. I came in with a grade 5 heart murmur & am on an inexpensive medication for that. Now that my teeth have been cleaned & a little time has passed, the vet can tell that the heart murmur has improved a bit! I will need to stay on the heart medication though. I had a large mass on the side of my head that was removed & not of medical concern, & I have a small fatty lump on my bum, but it does not bother me, & I hope it won't bother you either. I do cough a bit, but I've been checked out again & everything was fine with my lungs & that's when we recognized that my heart murmur was a bit better, too.

I'm a sweet little fellow looking for a sweet family to love & take great care of me in my golden years! My adoption fee is $299.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
