A SWEET SHY GIRL:  4 years old / 51 lbs.
Hi, my name is Meggie! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control heartworm positive and a bit scared and shy, but my heartworms will be treated, and my confidence is growing some each day as I wait for my furever family to find me!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met a few dogs at Mostly Mutts and showed some interest in them. I didn’t show any aggression, but I’ll need to meet any potential furry siblings with my trainer to make sure we’re a good fit. / Cats unknown / I’m looking for a home with older kids (ages 15+), as I met two children at Mostly Mutts (ages 7 and 10), and I was scared of them. I didn’t show any aggression, I just hid from them. If you have calm kids 15 or older, let’s meet and please let them know to be gentle and takes things slowly with me.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a timid girl at the moment, but I am gaining confidence as my trust grows. I am affectionate with the volunteers and seem especially comfortable with women. My sweet nature is sure to steal your heart / My energy level is 3-5 right now, but that may increase after my heartworm treatment and as I settle into my new home.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, and have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘come’ and go to your ‘place’ commands so far.  I also have good leash manners and take treats nicely, so that has me off to a good start.  I don’t yet load myself into a car, but I’m working on it with my trainer / My crate manner are good at Mostly Mutts / I have good potty habits on the shelter schedule too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I am much more interested in my people than in toys, so plan lots of petting and snuggle time with me / Though I do well on my walks, I don’t like big vehicles or loud trucks, so hopefully we can find a less busy place to walk than the streets around the shelter.

• MEDICAL: Unfortunately, my previous owner did not keep me on a heartworm preventative, so I am heartworm positive. Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of my treatment with one of their vets when I’m ready for it, so local adoption only, please. I hope to be in my new home when treatment starts! I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

If you are looking for a sweet girl to be your new furry family member, come to Mostly Mutts and ask for Meggie! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
