BLOSSOMING WITH LOVE & ASSURANCE: 3 years old / 15 lbs.

Hi, my name is Mick! I had a home and a family that I loved, but – they were moving and not able to take me with them. This had me scared and confused, so adjusting to shelter life has been challenging, but – with patience and love from the volunteers, progress is being made. I deserve a great home, and Mostly Mutts will help me find it.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I got along fine with the dogs I have met recently at Mostly Mutts. I didn’t really want to play with them, but there was no aggression shown and our meetings went well. If you have a nice doggie at home who is not necessarily looking for a playmate, let’s meet! / Cats unknown / I have some guarding/dominant issues with beds, blankets toys, etc., so I should not live with kids.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The key to my heart is allowing time for me to get to know you. I can be unsure at first but spend time sitting with me and giving me back and tail scratches, and – once I am comfortable, I become sweeter and sweeter. I am very possessive of my things and have some humping/dominant behaviors that are just starting to diminish, ask how this is going. The sudden change in my world may be part of my insecurity, but the volunteers and my trainer are helping me with this every day. The more I feel loved and safe, the more my sweet personality blossoms!

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am now a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer. I already know the ‘sit’ command, and my trainer is working with me on leashing strategies, as I am sometimes fearful of the leash right now. My leashing behavior is improving day-by-day with some coaxing, a treat and some post-walk lap time. I came from a Spanish-speaking home, so perhaps I would respond well to commands in Spanish? / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts / My potty manners have been pretty good, though I did come in with marking tendencies. Having just been neutered, that should improve in time and with training. Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I like the attention I get from the volunteers, once I know you are my friend! Treats are great as rewards for my positive behavior, and I always enjoy scratches and pets, as well as lap time / I don’t like to share my things, so don’t give me things that will need to be taken away while I work on curbing my possessiveness.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I needed cherry eye surgery and Mostly Mutts has done that for me.

I am looking for a kind, patient family to help me feel comfortable and loved in my new home! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
