A BIG LOVEBUG:  6 years old / 72 lbs.
Hi there! My name’s Ralphie and I’m a big, handsome guy with a lot of love to give! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am glad to be here, but nothing will beat a home and family of my own! I’ve won the hearts of all the volunteers, but when I’m in my crate I react poorly – please read the crate info. below and don’t pass me by.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: No dogs please. I want to be your only dog as I didn’t like the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts. I stared at them and if they engaged with me, I went after them. / Cats unknown / I’ve met several groups of kids at MM’s and I really enjoy them soaking up all the love! I also spent time with an 8 year old in a temporary foster home and liked him a lot too, so if you have kids, let’s meet and perhaps best no very young kids that I may bump over and remember that kids should not walk me due to my dislike of other dogs.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a really sweet guy, and I love people – always looking to them for some petting and attention. I especially seem fond of men (but I love women too) and will lean in for comfort and to be as close as possible – so affectionate! I am generally pretty laid back, but I do get frisky when I see something or someone that I want to be near / My energy level is 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I have enrolled in the Mostly Mutts University training program and already know an impressive list of commands - ‘sit’, ‘shake’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘stay’, ‘leave it’, and ‘go to your place.’ I also use proper door etiquette and accept friendly strangers without jumping. I walk pretty well on my leash but am a strong puller when I want to get to something that catches my eye, so hold on tight! Polishing my leash manners is on my assignment list / I keep my crate clean at MM’s, but I am crate reactive meaning that when someone approaches my crate, I bark/lunge and do not show the good behavior that have. Once I’m out of my crate, it’s been all good / I am doing very well with my potty manners on shelter schedule.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I really like toys and seem to enjoy the game ‘keep away’ better than ‘fetch’, as I don’t always want to give the toy back – lol. Keep an extra toy handy for a trade, and maybe I will become a fetching boy in time. I love being brushed which is good as I do have thick fur that needs regular brushing. I like car rides just fine, so let’s ride / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I do need a little time in new situations to feel at home. And … I would not like it if I did not get the love and attention I thrive on.

• MEDICAL: I’m current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I am looking for a kind and loving family to provide me with a wonderful home! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
