A SWEETHEART LOOKING FOR A CANINE COMPANION: 1 year old / 40 lbs.

Hello! My name is Samine! I’m a dog lover that is looking for another active dog in a loving furever home.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I LOVE dogs so much that I help Mostly Mutts’ assessment team with testing new rescued dogs to see if they are dog friendly. I do a great job reading another dog’s energy, so I know the right way to interact with them. I got along very well with the active dogs in my foster homes. I follow their lead and they help me to be more confident. I must have another playful dog in my new home. I don’t think a smaller dog would be a good fit since I love high energy play. So, if you have a dog that matches my energy level and temperament, let’s meet / I should not live with cats or other small animals (bunnies, ferrets, etc.), as I am way too interested in them / Because I am very slow to trust and commotion of children may cause me to bolt in fear, I should not live with children. Gentle, calm teenagers who are familiar with helping a reserved dog build trust may be alright in my new home, but - of course – let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a sweetheart who will be a devoted family member. I love giving kisses to my foster family and trainers. I am slower to trust men, so if there is a man in my adoptive home, he will need to be very patient, take his time, and be a strong leader in a calm manner. In general, I need a very patient and dog-savvy owner who is willing to put forth the time and effort to continue to build my confidence and show me how wonderful a loving home can be. I love going for outings with my trainers to parks and outdoor restaurants! I met quite a few dogs and people that I liked and was well behaved. / My energy level is 6-8 when I am comfortable

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a graduate of the Mostly Mutts University and Metro Re-Entry training programs. I've mastered ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, 'down', 'drop it', ‘leave it’, ‘go to your place’, proper leash walking, waiting to go out doors, and meeting other dogs. I also ride very well in the car, although I’m a bit nervous / I slept in a crate when my foster family was gone. I loved sleeping with the other dog on a large dog bed in my foster home. / My potty habits are good on a regular schedule.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I’ve loved every dog that I have met. I enjoy walks with other dogs. I am a bit nervous when vehicles drive by on my walks, but with the help of my trainers I've learned to remain calm. I will need a tall, secure fence to keep me safe in my furever home. / I have likely had negative experiences with men in my past, so any man in my life will need to be very patient while I get to know them. New environments and loud situations take me some time to get used to. My trainers can provide some guidance to my adoptive family on how to help.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m on a medication for anxiety, just ask about that.

I am looking for a patient, dog-savvy owner to provide stability and a loving home! My adoption fee is $299.00. I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga. Check out my photo gallery here: https://mostlymutts.smugmug.com/Adoptable-Dogs/SAMINE
