A SHY GUY WHO NEEDS LOVE:  3 years old / 21 lbs.
Hi, my name is Whitaker! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  I was really scared and unsure during my first week, but the volunteers are helping me know I am in a safe place, so my confidence and comfort level is sure to grow, as I await my furever home!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I liked the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts. Since I am quite timid, I would benefit from having a confident doggie friend in my new home from whom I can learn the ropes for being a great family dog, so let’s meet! / Cats Unknown / I met a 10-year-old boy and a slightly younger girl at Mostly Mutts and did well with them, though it scared me when they ran around near me. I didn’t show any aggression, though, so if you have kids let’s meet!
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am super sweet but scared and skittish, so the volunteers are showing me love and taking things slower with me which I like.  Using praise and a sweet voice - while I adjust to my new environment is really helpful.  I’d like a patient family who does the same thing.  Once I am comfortable, my playfulness surfaces and I start to relax a little / My energy level is 4-6.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  As a new student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, I will be learning lots of great commands with my trainer, as well as learning my leash skills, as the leash is totally new to me / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts / I have had good potty habits on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home.
• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to cuddle, and just need some time to warm up to you – then I am ready for petting and love – lots of it!  I will reward you with grateful kisses.  I’m looking for a calm and gentle family to love / Commotion and loud traffic makes me nervous, so hopefully we can find a place to walk that is not as busy as the streets by the shelter.
• MEDICAL:  I have a grade 3 luxating patella, which does not require veterinary treatment at this time, though may in the future.  I’ve started a daily Cosequin supplement will help. I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.
I am looking for a loving and patient family to give me a home where I will have time to adjust and be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
