A SHY LOVE BUG:  1 year old / 34 lbs.   Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  Hi, I’m Zeus!  Though I am initially a bit timid and shy, just go slow with our introduction, and I warm up nicely when you start petting me.  My nature is pretty calm for a young dog and lots of people and activity seem to make me nervous, so a nice calm home without a lot of activity would be best for me.  I met a gentle 10-year-old boy and his younger sister at the shelter and did well with them, so a home with kids around 10 could be a good fit for me too, but no toddlers as they make me very, very nervous.  If the kids are mature enough to take things slow with me, then I seem to trust them faster than adults, so let’s meet.  I don’t remember what happened in my past to make me shy of people, but I’m glad that MM’s rescued me, and I’m becoming more inquisitive each day.  The volunteers also say that I’m well behaved, and I like that.   I am curious about toys but don’t really know what to do with them.  Perhaps you can teach me how fun they are!  Right now, I am much more interested in getting loving and attention from my people.   I really am a true love bug as I like being close to you and will sit as close as possible once I know you love me!  As a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, I have already mastered the ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘leave it’, and ‘drop it’ commands, loose leash walking, proper door etiquette, and accepting nice strangers without jumping. I take treats gently, so my training should be fun and a great way to build trust.   My potty manners have been pretty good on the shelter schedule with just a few accidents, so just be consistent with me so I can master my potty skills. I met a few dogs at the shelter and liked playing with them, and I would enjoy a confident dog in my new home to show me the ropes and help with my shyness, so if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet to see if we can be friends. I also met the shelter kitty and was curious but respectful of her, so a home with a kitty friend could be fun, let’s meet! Everyone needs a love bug in the family, so come meet me soon!  Energy level: 4-6 (perhaps higher when I am comfortable in my new home).  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered, and my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar and leash.
