Gender: Female
Breed: Shepherd
Secondary Breed: Mix
Status: Adoptable

A DELIGHTFUL YOUNG LADY: 3 years old / 45 lbs.   Mostly Mutts adoption center is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  Hi, I’m Wallis! I am a very friendly girl who loves my walks with the volunteers, and they say my leash manners are quite good.  My affectionate nature comes out the minute you let me near your lap, when I will give you a long hug and lots of kisses!  I’m also a bit mouthy and don’t yet seem to know not to put my teeth on you, though I do it pretty gently.  The crate’s not my favorite place, though I do ok in it but would rather be with you. Toys don’t really intrigue me at this point – possibly because I don’t really know what to do with them.  I bet you can show me how much fun they can be.  My potty manners are coming along on the shelter schedule with a few accidents. My potty manners were better in my temp. foster home as I was able to go out more frequently, and I even learned to ring the bell on the door to say, “let me out please!” Please continue to be consistent with me so I can master those skills, and I’m sure that I couldn’t hold it all day if you were away at work, so an at home or work from home family member is what I’m looking for.  The trainers at MM’s learned that I could jump a 6-foot fence, so please don’t leave me unattended or off leash in the yard until you know for sure that I won’t jump the fence.  I don’t need a fenced yard as we can go out for a little walk and take care of business that way.  I have shown that I am a smart girl, and as a new student in the Mostly Mutts University training program I have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, and ‘down’ commands as well as loose leash walking.  I can’t wait to learn even more, so stay tuned for updates! I’ll need you to teach me not to counter surf as I did sneak some snacks from the coffee table and kitchen counter in my temp. foster home – oops! I’m also not a fan of getting into the car (not sure why), but a treat when I get in and rides to fun places should hopefully help with that. I met a few dogs at the Mostly Mutts facility and liked them, and I was more playful with the females. I was a little hesitant with the male dogs I met, but I didn’t show any aggression. I also met a male dog and a female dog in my temp. foster home, and we enjoyed playing together after we got to know each other. With my sweet disposition, I may enjoy another dog in my new home, so if you have a nice doggie, let’s meet to see if we can be friends.  There were a few older kids at the shelter recently, and we got along well, so kids around their age (11+) may be a good fit for me. Best no younger children as I can be mouthy at times (in a gentle, playful way and this is a trainable behavior). Let’s meet!  Energy level: 4-6.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed, and my adoption fee is $299.00 which also includes an engraved name tag, Martingale collar and leash.
