Hi there, I’m Ashton! I came to Mostly Mutts from a home that just had too many dogs and needed help. I wasn’t properly socialized, but I’m learning and getting along very nicely with the wonderful volunteers that come to spend time with me - it’s great! I may need a little time to settle in and trust you, but then I believe we’ll be best friends! I just went into foster home so there will be more information about me soon!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, but I lived with a lot of dogs previously, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I may have arrived a bit shaken up, but with kindness and patience, my true self is shining through! I’ve discovered how much I love gentle pets and affection — I’ll happily lean in for more and wag my tail to show how much I’m enjoying it. I’m a sweet, shy boy who just needs a little time to feel safe, and once I do, my loving, gentle nature really comes out. Everyone says I have such an overall loving demeanor and that I did great for my bath and nail trim — what can I say, I just want to be a good boy for the people who care about me! / Energy Level: 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I don’t think I was taught any commands, but that’s something we can work on together! I’m new to walking on a leash, so sometimes I need to be carried, but with patience, I believe I’ll learn well! / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts, though I sometimes growl a bit when coming out of my crate – I think it’s just nervousness and due to all the changes, as I have not shown any aggression. / My former owner reported that I was not potty trained, but I’m doing pretty well on the shelter schedule.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I really enjoy being petted and spending time with people. Once I get to know you, I’ll happily curl up in your lap for some snuggles. I’m starting to get curious about toys, too — I think it won’t be long before I’m playing with them and having a great time! / I don’t think I’d like to live in a loud or very busy home and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.
