Hi there, I'm Atlas! I came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a new home & family. I'm glad to be here & I am enjoying my time in a wonderful calm & quiet type of foster home while I wait to meet my new family. While I don't recall my past, I'm blossoming every day as my confidence grows & my sweet, gentle nature shines through.
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts & liked them. I play with dogs often in my foster home, & I’m still learning to read other dogs' signals, but I respond well when another dog lets me know they've had enough. My favorite games are playing with toys together, running & chasing each other around & especially "catch me if you can." My foster thinks I'd enjoy a doggie companion, so if you have a dog at home already, let's meet! / Cats unknown. / I met a respectful boy & girl around 10 years old in my foster home & did well with them. Playing with them was nice too, so let's meet & best no young kids that I may bump over, & I don't think I'd do well with loud or rambunctious kids as I'm a sensitive soul.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: My foster family has enjoyed watching my playful nature blossom, as I was a little nervous when I first came to them, but now, I love being with my fosters & being part of a family. I follow my foster mom around more than my dad, but I tend to check on him & happily accept pets from him too. I love being near my people but am perfectly happy to nap in the same room if they are working. Do you need a home office buddy? I'm cautious with new or unfamiliar people & like to just observe & figure them out before I totally trust them. In my new home, if you have a fenced yard, I’d love for you to come outside with me while I’m settling in & getting comfortable in my new surroundings. I'm a quiet, sensitive sweetheart ready to find my new home. My foster says I'm a "really nice balance between playful & easygoing". / Energy level: 5-6.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: So far, I know the 'down', 'stay', 'come' & 'place' commands & you can teach me even more. I've also learned how to go up & down stairs in my foster home. Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let's continue my training together. / My fosters don't crate me as I don’t need a crate in their home. / My potty manners are very good in my foster home—hopefully, that will be the case in. my new home, too!
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy gentle attention, cuddling & petting, & belly rubs. Spending time outside in the fenced yard with my people is a favorite of mine, & I really enjoy quietly exploring while keeping an eye on my surroundings & sniffing some flowers. Mealtime is always something I look forward to! I enjoy playing with toys & chasing a tennis ball! I enjoy hikes & walks. After a walk or hike with my foster, I sit patiently on the rug by the door for my foster to take off my leash before I go lie down. I enjoy going for car rides & I haven't been bothered by thunderstorms or walks in the rain & a shower is just fine with me. / Other than needing some gentle patience as I get to know people, I can't think of any dislikes, however like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, & training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet & consider a dental cleaning in the future. I take an over-the-counter probiotic daily for good digestion.
I'm looking for a calm, patient family who will give me the time & love I need, & in return, I'll reward you with unwavering loyalty, a gentle heart, & a lifetime of devoted companionship. My adoption fee is $299.00, & I'm located in Kennesaw, Ga.
