Job Title: Marketing & Fundraising Manager
Location: Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption, Inc.
Reports To: Executive Director
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Marketing & Fundraising Manager leads all strategic marketing, communications, community engagement, and fundraising initiatives for Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoptions, Inc. This position is a public facing role that needs an individual who can effectively tell Mostly Mutts story to a variety of supporters, donors and sponsors. Playing a critical role in strengthening brand awareness, increasing donor support, driving fundraising campaigns, and elevating the visibility of the rescue, the Market thrift store, and the new clinic.

This role requires a creative, relationship-driven professional who can develop compelling messaging, build strong donor and sponsor relationships, plan and execute fundraising events, oversee marketing content, and ensure consistent, mission-aligned branding across all platforms. This Manager works closely with the Adoption & Public Relations Director and department leaders to ensure financial sustainability and community impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications
  • Develop and implement an annual marketing plan that supports organizational goals, events, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Create and manage content for websites, social media, newsletters, press releases, and printed materials.
  • Oversee brand consistency across all departments, including rescue, Market, events, and the Spay/Neuter Clinic.
  • Work closely with Adoption Director to produce storytelling that highlights the Mostly Mutts mission, animal success stories, volunteer impact, and donor recognition.
  • Maintain and grow social media presence and community engagement.
  • Manage digital advertising, Google Ads Grants, SEO, and online marketing tools.
  • Coordinate photography, videography, and creative assets that reflect Mostly Mutts’ brand and mission.
Fundraising & Donor Development
  • Develop, lead, and execute annual fundraising strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Manage all fundraising campaigns, including Georgia Gives, monthly supporters, capital campaigns, and planned giving initiatives.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, community partners, and foundations.
  • Oversee donor acknowledgment, gift processing, and stewardship communications.
  • Track fundraising metrics, donor retention, and growth using NEON CRM.
  • Identify new fundraising opportunities to support the shelter, Market, and spay/neuter clinic.
Events & Community Engagement
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events such as Putts Fore Mutts, the Bingo Fundraiser, Market promotions, and community outreach events.
  • Work with volunteers, committees, and staff to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Represent Mostly Mutts at community functions, business networking events, and public-speaking opportunities.
  • Engage with local businesses to secure sponsorships, in-kind donations, and partnerships.
Internal Collaboration & Support
  • Work closely with the Executive Director on organizational messaging, donor relations, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Market leadership to promote sales events, special promotions, donation drives, and volunteer recruitment.
  • Support Shelter, Training, and Clinic teams by producing clear, mission-driven communication materials.
  • Provide marketing and fundraising guidance for new programs, expansions, and campaigns.
  • Train team members and volunteers on brand standards and community messaging when necessary.
Administrative & Financial Responsibilities
  • Manage the marketing and fundraising budgets responsibly and transparently.
  • Track return on investment (ROI) across campaigns and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for grants, fundraising events, donor communications, and sponsorship agreements.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, or communications - preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong skills in storytelling, writing, graphic design, and digital marketing.
  • Experience managing fundraising campaigns, donor relations, and events.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles, donor stewardship, and CRM systems.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends for events, fundraisers, or urgent communication needs.
  • Passion for animal welfare and dedication to the Mostly Mutts mission.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. for event set-ups.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, or move during event operations.
  • Must be comfortable working around animals.
